Second Chances 001: Cherry

Second Chances is a slow fashion project near to my heart and perfect for your wardrobe  

Each shirt begins as a carefully sourced preloved or thrifted piece and is transformed by hand into something entirely new. No mass production, no repeats, no shortcuts, no machines. Just time, thread and a dream.

This is clothing made to be worn for years, not seasons. And because every piece is stitched individually, yours will never exist again.

This shirt is a size 10 J.Crew blue and white gingham button-up, thrifted new-with-tags ($75 USD) and chosen specifically for this piece.

The embroidery features two cherries and their leaves, stitched one strand at a time using approximately 20 thread colours to create depth and richness. The dense stitching ensures durability while still remaining soft to wear. The thread painting took approximately 10 hours. The back of the stitching is finished with Tender Touch to ensure it doesn’t irritate or scratch. 

It’s a shirt that was rescued from landfill and given a second chance to be its most beautiful self. Once an ordinary shirt, now an icon with a story.
